40+ YEARS OF HISTORY
A Touch of Style!
In 1974, deCondé’s, a storefront interior design studio, opened in the historic Paramount Picture building located along Salt Lake City’s “Old Film Row.” Film Row got its name from the major film companies’ distribution houses that ran along the south side of 100 South, between 200 and 300 East in downtown.
Thirty years later, founder, Ken deCondé, along with business partner, Harry Warrick, had expanded the original 1000 sq.ft. studio into a 50,000 sq.ft. retail showroom. The expanded showroom was housed in three buildings that previously stored films for Paramount, Universal / Fox, and Disney studios.
A New Look: The Fall of 2008, deCondé’s moved from downtown Salt Lake City to a new location at 3130 South Highland Drive, just south of the historic “Villa Theater.” The new showroom, although smaller than its predecessor, keeps the connection of classic style through deCondé’s signature room settings that excite the senses. Browsing is an adventure. Each room setting features a different look and style: formal traditional, casual, rustic, high style contemporary, transitional, fine classic reproductions, leather, mirror, inlay wood and stone, painted finishes, metal and more.
Along with our main showroom, deCondé’s has three additional display locations.
Warrick Leather Gallery is located just west of the main store. deCondé’s Accents is a smaller scaled boutique-styled shop located at 3000 S. Highland Drive. For the past six years, Accents has been our Highland Drive advertiser to introduce customers to our company and direct them to the main downtown showroom. Now it showcases wonderful merchandise that has been reduced from regular price. West of our Accent shop, customers can find deCondé’s Clearance Center. This center contains merchandise left from our moving sale that has been temporarily stored in our warehouse. Beautiful furnishings which are discontinued floor samples that have reduced in price 50 – 70%.
Full Interior Design service is offered. Complimentary design assistance and hourly consulting is available from designers depending on the individual project: selection of a single item, completing an entire residence or office, specifying, space planning, etc. Our resource library of manufacturer catalogs, fabrics, leathers, and finishes enables individuals to customize their furnishings through special ordering.
After creating inspiring homes and offices across the country, owner Ken deConde along with CFO/owner Harry Warrick plan to retire Summer 2018. Employees of deConde's thank them for their tireless work and vision over the years. Wish them well as they embark on their retirement.
